How Do Medicare Agents Get Paid?
One of the most common questions I receive is: "How much do you charge?"
Do I Pay Extra If I Work With You?
Generally, no.
In most cases, Medicare plan premiums are the same whether you enroll on your own, work directly with an insurance company, or choose to work with a licensed Medicare agent.
That means you can absolutely do this yourself if you prefer.
Can I Do This On My Own?
Absolutely.
You can visit Medicare.gov, research your options, contact insurance companies directly, and enroll on your own.
Many people do.
Then Why Would I Work With You?
Because Medicare can be confusing.
There are enrollment periods, penalties, deadlines, coverage choices, provider networks, prescription drug considerations, and rules that can affect your decisions.
Many people find that having someone help them understand the process makes Medicare feel far less overwhelming.
My role is to help you understand your options, answer your questions, and help you avoid common mistakes.
I don't make the decision for you.
I help you understand the choices so you can make the decision that feels right for your situation.
So How Do You Get Paid?
If you choose to enroll through me, the insurance company may compensate me for assisting with the enrollment.
In most cases, this does not increase the premium you pay for the plan.
The compensation is paid by the insurance company, not by you.
Why Give Away So Much Information?
As I was learning Medicare, I found much of the information difficult to navigate.
Important details were often spread across multiple websites, filled with unfamiliar terminology, or organized in ways that didn't make sense to someone trying to make real-world decisions.
As I learned Medicare, I started building this website.
I organized it the way I wished I had found it myself, by the paths people are actually walking.
My goal is to provide clear, educational resources that help people feel more confident and less overwhelmed.
